You’ve got a high emulative spirit… You think you know English and you are proud of it… You have ideas that are ready to be shared… Then, the following advert is just for YOU!
Starting from now on you may visit a special web-site – http://sbs-tarasova.kiev.ua/ – where children of all ages from all over Ukraine have an opportunity to participate in sharing their creativity in English as well as charging others’ works. Own poems or stories, English-Ukrainian or vise versa translations, PowerPoint Presentations on various themes are welcomed.
Every three months a new topic for the presentations will be offered. The deadline for the first one – MY SCHOOL PRESENTATION – is 10^th May. The results of the completion could be found on the site and published in the newspaper «English Junior» in June. The winners will get dictionaries, books, discs and other prizes. So, hurry up and send your works to the same e-mail. Follow all the requirements and the presentation plan.
Presentation plan
1. Introduction: name, city, how your school ranks among the others (what’s peculiar).
2. History (if any):
- When was it open?
- Who founded it?
- What are any interesting facts from its history?
3. Location and how to get there.
4. Short description (building, garden).
5. Equipment and classes, extracurricular activities (clubs, sport, any unusual subjects).
6. Teaching staff (short characteristics).
7. Students (short characteristics: hobbies, interests, places at the Olympiads, contests).
8. Traditions and customs.
9. Conclusion (summing-up).

Instructions to follow
1. Strictly keep to the plan.
2. There should be no more than 12-15 slides in your presentation.
3. Write only key information on the slides (key words, phrases or statements).
4. Present the written copy of the presentation in a Word document (keep to the plan, there should be no more than 150-180 words).
5. Check all your mistakes (especially on the slides).
6. Do not send slides without text (there should be no more than 10 lines with the text on each slide).
7. Music and animated effects are welcomed (but not to distract listeners’ attention).
8. Leave the last slide to give information about yourself (name, age, form, contacting info: e-mail, phone number).
