Webinar session 1

The  three-part  "Writing  Beyond..."  webinar  series  is  dedicated  to  helping  teachers  to  develop
innovative  ways  of  incorporating  creative  writing,  critical  thinking  and  e-Teaching  practices
into  their  classroom. The  first  session on March 5, 2012 will begin with  a general overview  and
explanation of  creative writing  in both  an  academic  and  a personal  context. Then,  the  focus will
move  toward more practical matters which will  include sharing creative writing best practices and
successful  (and  reproducible)  projects.  Further  sessions  in April  and May  2012 will  delve more
deeply  into  genre-specific  assignments  and  assessment  as well  as possible publication outlets  for
student and teacher writing. Each 90-minute webinar will take place on a Monday at 3 p.m.
