Учителі міста побували на уроці у 2 класі, де вчитель-методист Данченко С.А. продемонструвала нові підходи до навчання в новій українській школі. Способами використання веб-ресурсів поділилася учитель Ткачова О.С. та ознайомила колег з матеріалами власного блогу englishtkachova.blogspot.com.

CiSELT (Certificate in Secondary English Language Teaching)

At the initiative of the Council of Europe, Strasbourg, the European Day of Languages has been celebrated every year since 2001 on 26 September.

On the occasion of the day, a range of events are organised across Europe: activities for and with children, television and radio programmes, language classes and conferences. National authorities and the various partners are given a free hand to organise activities. To coordinate the activities organised at national level, the Council of Europe asks participating countries to nominate "National Relay Persons" for the day.

Students from around the world, ages 3 to 18 years, are invited to enter the Space Foundation's fourth annual International Student Art Contest. Children may draw, paint or create a digital image of their own spaceship design for the contest theme "My Spaceship Looks Like..."

The deadline to submit entries is Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, by noon Universal Time (12:00 UTC), submitted online by the student's teacher. Homeschool students are also invited to participate.

Prizes will be awarded by age category and the winners notified in early 2014.

We would like to inform you about an exciting opportunity for high school teachers and students.

The Gulen Institute Youth Platform has announced its fifth international essay contest, which is open to all high school students in grades 9^th through 12^th currently enrolled in public or private schools from across the nation and abroad.  Students are invited to address global challenges and propose potential solutions based on their own research and experience.  Contest winners will also be invited to participate in a platform held in Washington DC, at which they will have the opportunity to share their ideas and listen to their peers from around the world.  With this program, We hope to provide a chance for youth from around the world to engage each other in discussion and to advance cross-cultural understanding.

Topic of this year is:

"What role should state and non-profit agencies play in the education of disadvantaged youth who are not realizing their potential?"

Every nation invests in education to develop its "human capital," a goal of which is to maintain and further the nation’s dynamic progress. The target of most education, public as well as private, is limited mostly to those youth already on their way to competence and fulfillment. But real, long term benefits for any society will be derived from the education of both advantaged and disadvantaged youths.  Disadvantaged youth are all too often overlooked because of a number of factors: poverty and malnutrition, language differences, student immature attitudes, schools with inadequate facilities, poorly prepared teachers, and weak parental support.

Deadline for essay submission is December 20, 2013.

Конкурс "Планета Джунглів"

“Планета Джунглів”: конкурс, що поєднує навчання та розваги

Метою проекту є підвищення престижу інтелектуальних, творчих та спортивних досягнень учасників.

Старт 2013 порадує хлопців та дівчат введенням у експлуатацію нової Інтернет-платформи, яка дасть змогу у повній мірі розкрити свої здібності та вміння.

Захід триватиме увесь навчальний рік та проводитиметься у три етапи.

– І етап – інтелектуальний (включає у себе серію інтелектуальних вікторин) – в І півріччі;

– ІІ етап – творчий (експертне оцінювання творчих досягнень учнів) – в ІІ півріччі;

– ІІІ етап – спортивний (експертне оцінювання спортивних досягнень учнів) – в ІІ півріччі.

За результатами участі у трьох етапах будуть сформовані індивідуальні та командні рейтинги учасників.

Благодійний фонд Костянтина Кондакова оголошує всеукраїнський конкурс для юних художників «МамаЯмалюю». Заявки на участь у конкурсі приймаються до 1 грудня 2013 року. Малюнок переможця конкурсу прикрасить одну зі стін його рідного міста.

Якщо Вам від 5 до 16 років, Ви добре малюєте і не знаєте де проявити свій креатив? Хочете прославитися в рідному місті і показати свій талант всій Україні!? Тоді спеціально для Вас стартує унікальний конкурс малюнків від Благодійного фонду Костянтина Кондакова.

Для участі необхідно:

• намалювати яскравий малюнок на тему «Втіль свою мрію!»;

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Ukrainian Institute of America’s
Taras Shevchenko Essay Contest.

The essay contest is part of a year-long, world-wide celebration of Taras Shevchenko’s 200th birthday. It is intended to inspire young people to think about the legacy of this towering figure in Ukraine’s history. 

Theme of the Contest 

“Taras Shevchenko: Why Does He Matter Today?”

Awards

• First prize $3,000
• Second prize $2,000
• Third prize $1,000
• 10 Honorable Mentions $300 each
• The top 3 essays, and the names of all the winners, will be published on the Institute's website; in Atlas, the Institute's newsleter; and in some of the Ukrainian American Press. Top scoring essays will be displayed at the Institute's headquarters during the summer of 2014.

Contest Guidelines

• Open to anyone ages 14 to 21.
• Essays must be original, unpublished, and written entirely by the contestant. Co-authored essays will not be accepted.
• A contestant may submit only one essay.
• Entries must be received no later than midnight January 31, 2014.
• Each submission will receive a return message indicating receipt of the essay.
• Entrants must fill out the entry form on the Ukrainian Institute of America’s website.

Essay Format

• Essays must be written in English.
• Essays must be under 1,000 words in length.
• Essays must be double-spaced.
• Essays must be submitted electronically as a Microsoft Word file, attached as specified on the entry form.
• Cite all sources used in the text; do not use footnotes or endnotes.

Essays will be selected on the basis of originality of thought, creativity, substance, and appropriateness to contest theme by a panel of qualified judges.

The selection of winning essays shall be entirely at the discretion of the judges. The decision of the judges shall be final and shall not be subject to review in any forum or by any person or entity. Contestants agree to abide by the decision of the judges and The Ukrainian Institute of America.

By submitting an essay, a contestant certifies that he or she is the owner of any relevant intellectual property rights in the essay and that he or she assigns all such rights to the Ukrainian Institute of America. All essays submitted will become the property of the Institute. The Institute may, but is not obligated to, publish or use submitted essays in any form and venue.

Essay contest winners will be notified by early summer 2014.

Програма FLEX є безкоштовною та відкритою для всіх бажаючих. Вимоги щодо критеріїв участі у тестуванні у 2012 році наступні:

• Дата народження з 01.01.1996 по 15.07.1998;
• Навчатися в 8, 9 або 10 класі школи;
• Вивчати англійську мову;
• Українське громадянство;
• Конкурсант не мав перебувати у США більш ніж три місяці впродовж останніх п'яти років. 

Учениця на виставці у Києві

 Вивчення англійської мови повинно бути практичним, тобто кожен, хто вивчає мови, повинен бути спроможним використовувати отримані знання не лише на уроках у школі, підставляючи неправильні дієслова у речення. 
Учениця 8в класу Гадяцької спеціалізованої школи І-ІІІ ступенів №4 Филь Руслана, у неділю 18 березня повернулася з Києва з міжнародної виставки "Освіта за кордоном". 
Дівчину запросили до Києва, як одну з фіналісток он-лайн змагання на знання англійської мови, що проводила компанія Study.ua. Змагання складалися з трьох етапів, під час кожного слід було пройти тестування у мережі Інтернет. 
У Києві Руслана ще раз проходила тестування, отримавши Грамоту від організаторів та платинову картку  на знижки при замовленні навчання на мовних курсах study.ua.


Мрія Руслани - навчання за кордоном , тож побажаємо дівчинці здійснення її бажань.

о проведении международного Конкурса видеороликов “If I were a cosmonaut!”

1. Общие положения
1.1         Настоящее Положение о проведении международного Конкурса видеороликов “If I were a cosmonaut!” (далее – Положение) устанавливает цели и задачи, определяет права и обязанности организаторов и участников Конкурса, сроки и этапы проведения Конкурса.
1.2         Учредителем Конкурса является Интерактивный научно-методический журнал «Сообщество учителей английского языка» (далее - Сообщество).
1.3         Конкурс является открытым и проводится с 1 марта 2012 года  по 1 апреля 2012 года.
1.4         Вся информация о Конкурсе размещается в сети Интернет на сайте Сообщества учителей английского языка по адресу http://tea4er.ru/.

A Day in the Life of Ukraine. 13/12/11

   Who are the people living in Ukraine today?

>   Rich/ poor? Urban/ rural? Farmer/ professor? Ukrainian/ Russian? Old/young? Traditional/ modern? East/ West? >   What separates them? And, perhaps more importantly, what brings them together?

>   This project aims to create an opportunity for intra-cultural and international awareness of Ukraine and Ukrainians, to strengthen the practice of writing in an engaging way, to utilize the English language as a tool to enhance understanding-- especially among speakers of different languages, and to offer a voice to all individuals and cultures within Ukraine.

>   This project is, in part, a contest, but the general idea is to involve as many people as possible living in all parts of Ukraine: children, students, teachers, pensioners, businesspeople, farmers, cooks, secretaries, Peace Corps Volunteers...

>   The idea is simple: each participant sits down and writes about his or her experience on December 13, 2011: work, study, travel, chores, food, friends, family, and more. This text may take any form-- an essay, a letter, a poem, etc-- but its contents must be true and the original work of the author.

>   Participants will then submit their work by December 19 to the email address adayinthelifeofukra...@gmail.com. All participating authors will receive electronic certificates, and selected works will be posted online and those authors recognized. Pending funding, a print version may also be developed.

>   Interested? Send an email with any questions, and check the website for more details, suggestions, and updated information as the date approaches. This is a great activity to do with English clubs, classes, colleagues, friends...
